All about the HDFA Tile Project
This project was started in 2012 to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. With the help of local artist Kate Dunbar, children were invited to design a tile each to go up on the Sea Wall and to sign their names to their artwork.

In 2015 we started again with the theme “Seaside Memories”, and visitors to the town as well as local schools and residents were invited to take part and two more panels were completed. By 2018 we had five complete panels.

In 2022, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Year, again with Kate’s help, we hope to complete the last two panels with ‘Earthshot SOS Save Our Species’ as this year’s theme. Around 80 tiles have been completed so far.

Altogether, we need to complete 180 tiles for the two panels. Once we have all the necessary tiles to start work, the sea wall will be prepared and, weather allowing, the tiles will go up alongside the other panels on the sea wall to the right of the road leading to Hunstanton Yacht Club. We hope the project will be fully complete in 2023.
